Productions Facilities ED&C has invested in extensive facilities and resources to stay ahead of the latest technology, and offer its employees the best equipment, training and facilities available. By minimizing other costs, ED&C offers you the most technologically advanced system at a very competitive cost. ED&C employees benefit from the latest technology (from workstations to facilities). To best design, build and test ED&C material handling solutions, it was determined that the primary ED&C facility must incorporate office, workshop and test space. Headquarters Office Facility ED&C is headquartered in Troy, Michigan, a centrally located area that enables easy access to all customer locations. The main floor of the building houses engineering, project management and support staff in 3,500 sq. ft. All workstations are fully automated with LAN and internet access and extensive software. The facility also offers a video conferencing center. Manufacturing Facilities The production center is also housed within the Troy facility. This enables the design engineers and the electrical engineers responsible for building the components to work closely to meet customer requirements. The workshop has more than 20,000 square feet of build area as well as three shipping and receiving doors with 16 feet of clearance. Within the manufacturing facility, ED&C builds prototype controls and custom components for a variety of customers. Material Handling Test Loop The 4,000 square foot material handling test loop is located upstairs from the office area at ED&C's headquarters location. Almost all components of a material handling system can be installed and tested at this location including roller and gravity conveyor, vertical lift units, spiral chutes, and discharges. The primary result of this test loop is the ability to fully de-bug ED&C systems prior to delivery at the customer site. Every possible scenario can be evaluated and corrected at the test loop. This saves considerable time and expense during installation and commissioning. The facility can also be used to perform the In House Acceptance Test (IHAT) of a system. |
