Technical Skills The foundation of ED&C's material handling systems integration skills lies in its extensive experience with electrical controls. As material handling systems become more advanced and are required to automate an ever increasing number and level of functions, the controls for the systems are more critical than ever before. ED&C understands this and uses its decades of controls experience to integrate the most technically capable and reliable systems in the industry. The Company is staffed with highly skilled and well seasoned engineers and program managers. Lessons learned from similar projects and programs are applied to current projects to maximize efficiency and minimize cost. The team responsible for a project is well-versed, develops innovative solutions, and reduces costs without sacrificing quality. ED&C engineers are committed to completing each project within budget and on schedule while at all times maintaining a focus on developing the highest quality solution possible. The staff is then supported with state-of-the-art design, manufacturing and testing equipment. ED&C recognizes that the controls industry changes quickly and radically. ED&C strives to stay ahead of controls technology changes through offsite continuing education, formal university education, symposiums, and in-office seminars to train its employees on the latest technical processes and procedures. Product and Property Controls ED&C is committed to maintaining a corporate environment that enforces the production and property controls put in place to regulate quality, minimize costs, and maximize workplace efficiency. Production Controls Within the Production Facility, processes are in place to track material, ensure safety and minimize costs associated with component production. Inventory is carefully tracked and quality is checked in accordance with ED&C's commitment to defect prevention rather than defect correction. Property Controls With so much of ED&C's work done via computer (design, tracking, accounting, logistics support, etc.) the Local Area Network (LAN) is a critical element of property control. The LAN is based on client-server architecture connected via Ethernet and protected by a firewall. In addition to the servers operating on the Windows NT Server platform, ED&C boasts of a systemic fractional T1 connection. The engineering workstations are equipped with Office, Project and AutoCAD. As well as Promis-e, a supplement to AutoCAD specifically for controls design. Disaster recovery polices are also in place. |
